Joe Bono III is the founder and driving force behind Legacy Design Concrete, a Houston-based concrete construction company he established in 2007 with a simple philosophy: build it right, stand behind your work, and treat people the right way.

A graduate of Southern Methodist University (SMU) with a strong background in finance, Joe brings a rare combination of financial discipline, entrepreneurial instinct, construction knowledge, and hands-on leadership to the company. His ability to understand both the numbers behind a project and the intricate details of its construction has played a major role in Legacy’s growth and reputation.

Over nearly two decades, Joe has developed an exceptional understanding of complex concrete construction. He thrives on challenging projects that demand detailed planning, precision, problem-solving, and flawless execution. Whether analyzing plans, managing operations, coordinating field teams, or working directly with builders, engineers, and architects, Joe remains deeply involved in the work and holds himself and his team to an exceptionally high standard.

Under his leadership, Legacy Design Concrete has built a reputation for tackling sophisticated foundations and concrete projects throughout the Houston area, particularly within the high-end custom home market. Joe’s approach has always been about more than completing a scope of work. It is about earning trust, building long-term relationships, protecting the builder’s reputation, and delivering a finished product everyone involved can be proud of.

Finance remains one of Joe’s greatest strengths. He has a natural command of numbers, business strategy, and the financial side of construction, allowing him to evaluate projects from both an operational and business perspective. That combination of financial expertise and real-world construction experience gives him a unique ability to make sound decisions while never losing sight of quality in the field.

Those who know Joe will tell you that his success is matched by his character. He is approachable, generous, loyal, and genuinely invested in the people around him. That commitment extends to coaching his children’s youth sports teams and investing his time in the next generation.

Family is at the center of Joe’s life. He is a devoted husband and father of three—two sons and a younger daughter—and places tremendous value on the time he spends with them. His family’s beach house in Sargent, Texas is one of his favorite places, and he has a deep appreciation for the Gulf Coast lifestyle and the Sargent community.

When he is not working, Joe is most at home outdoors. He is an avid fisherman, hunter, and boater who enjoys spending time on the Texas Gulf Coast. He also has a passion for watersports, including wakeskating, wakeboarding, and surfing. Whether he is on the water, at the ranch, coaching from the sidelines, or spending time with his family, Joe brings the same energy and enthusiasm that have defined his career.

Joe built Legacy Design Concrete around principles that remain at the heart of the company today: integrity, accountability, craftsmanship, relationships, and doing things the right way—even when no one is watching.
